Heres a new kind of puppet show you've probably never seen before. A variety of robotic puppets are now on display in an exhibition at Taipei Puppetry Art Center. They can perform tricks from dancing to even acting. Heres our story. Modern technology and traditional art collide when the cloth puppet and robot puppet fight for a chair. The world's first handmade robot puppet was jointly developed by puppet master Chen Hsi-huang and a team of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology students. Chen, who painted the puppet himself, says that he isn't the least bit threatened by technology and finds the robot puppet extremely entertaining. The robot puppet can scratch its head, bow, and stand on one leg, but lacks a dramatic flair. Other robots on exhibit include a wind-up tea-serving robot from the Edo period, and a mini-robot that can perform the "Sorry Sorry" dance. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
