Summer may be the toughest season for manual laborers, but here's an exception. Workers in ice factories say moving ice blocks at this time of the year is much more pleasant than carrying bricks or cement bags, not to mention the pay raise they get with surging ice sales.

Though Mr Lin has to move the 35 kg ice block, he is not complaining or sweating for he works inside the ice factory.

Everyone would need to wear long sleeves working there with gloves and rain boots despite the hot summer heat.

The ice storage area can store up to 50 tons of ice for Food and Beverages industry that is made of Reverse Osmosis water.

During the record breaking heat, the sales volume increased 30% for the factory with each worker earning an average of NT$35,000 per month.

Those with luck can also get NT$3,000 to 5,000 bonus if the sales is better than expected.

However, during the winter, most workers would have to worry about a pay cut.

Therefore, they would always look forward to the summer season while the rest of us hate going to work in the heat.
