In showing his support for the technology industry here in Taiwan, President Ma along with other officials have paid a visit to the Hsinchu Technology Park.

Ma emphasizes that signing ECFA will help Taiwan's current economic distress and promises companies that the government will increase funds for research in the near future.

President Ma wore 3D glasses to experience 3D technology.

He led a group of high-level officials from the Economics Ministry on a visit with companies in Hsinchu Technology Park.

His first stop was IC design house Mediatek and the company's research subsidiary.

Ma wanted to show that his government cares about company research and not only ECFA.

Ma said the 10 years after ECFA will be the golden age for Taiwan's economics. But, experts criticize Ma for just leaning on one policy and relying on the Mainland market too much.

Therefore, Ma visited the science park to show that research is the backbone of Taiwan's economic future.

He also announced government grants for research.

Ma promised he would subsidize research and asked the National Science Council to help research companies.

As for training people, the government will give NT$50 billion over the next five years to the Education Ministry to grant to colleges around our nation.

He promised this education money will not be cut.
