In today's edition, we're giving you coverage around Taiwan regarding the recent typhoon, Typhoon Fanapi. In the south especially, heavy downpours resulted in severe flooding on the freeways, leading to a chaotic drive for commuters on Sunday afternoon. With lanes turning into virtual lakes, the journey home almost seemed impossible. This long line of cars are stuck at Kaohsiung County's Tashe Interchange as they have been backed up for nearly a kilometer as many cannot continue despite these traffic lights in front of them. They are stacked up one after another on this interchange, and its impossible to turn around. However, after coming off the highway, one sees this large expanse of water, as these drivers are waiting too long to take the plunge. Wearing this lightweight raincoat, this driver steps out though the rain is too heavy as no one is directing traffic, as even the fire department is stuck here, as they are anxious to go into the disaster area. There is no easy choice as busses, SUVs, and Jeeps are afraid of entering the area. This black SUV wants to go onto the highway as it has a higher wheelbase though it is still afraid, as this interchange is totally flooded. Those that have already tried can only go to this divider, which is relatively higher. Those on the interior lanes are not so lucky as some have gone halfway and broke down. Many did not expect such rain to abruptly turn this interchange into a large water slide. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
