The scandal surrounding Taipei's Xinshen overpass escalates as a city government official and a contractor were both detained by prosecutors late Tuesday, arousing suspicions that officials of higher levels may also be involved. But the City Government declined to comment on the case. The Xinsheng Overpass continues to see new developments in its illegal procurement case as former New Construction Department Director Huang Hsi-hsun and Join Engineering Consultant Employee Lee Mei have been released on bail though the high court has asked asked for their detention. The prosecution found a notebook in Huang's office detailing both the time and responses to investigators, Also, in the office former chief of Public Works Department Chen Chih-Sheng there were Taipei City Government secretariat notes and questions raising the possibility that the case could spiral upwards. Taipei City Government have been low-key in its response as DPP legislators believe it is not a simple case. As prosecutors continue their investigation and the possibility that it could travel upwards, it will begin to have an impact on Hau Lung-Bin's re-election campaign. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
