A young man from Australia, Andrew Bonello, has launched a fund-raising campaign for teenage girls in the halfway house by riding 1,400 kilometers on his bike around the island. He is asking everyone to donate 1 NT dollar for each kilometer of his journey, and so far, he has raised over 15,000 NT dollars in just 10 days.

This 24-year-old Australian, Andrew, was inspired by a Garden of Hope Foundation fundraising drive to build a halfway house for young girls.

For this reason, he has begun a bicycle fundraising operation, as he has now ridden over 600 kilometers, riding to the Taitung train station.

He is also using his rudimentary Mandarin to help raise money.

In the past 10 days, Andrew has ridden from the west from the eastern part of Taiwan.

He has traveled through the streets and fields, and along the way, a small number of people have been riding with him.

He believes that the people of Taiwan are very friendly and has agreed to donate money to the Garden of Hope Foundation.

He has now raised to more than 15,000 NT dollars.

The amount is not much, but he believes it will help troubled girls in Taiwan.

Andrew's fundraising slogan is to donate 1 NT dollars for every kilometer.

It is a small, simple wish that can help many people.

He will continue on to Hualien and Taipei will be his final stop on March 6.
