31 Taiwanese students who lost contact with their families after the earthquake struck in Sendai have been found. Having experienced the tsunami first-hand, the individuals, who are now safe in Tokyo, said that they are deeply impressed with how the country is handling this disastrous event. These 31 Taiwanese students in various universities in northeast region of Japan left the disaster-stricken Sendai area after getting in touch with Taiwan's representative office in Japan. They switched several transportation services before getting on the high-speed rail to arrive Tokyo. The moment when the earthquake struck, they were running for their lives since the school buildings were shaking violently. Thanks to the close network among the Taiwanese students, they managed to quickly contact others and get assistance from Taiwanese students' associations. The students were impressed with Japan's orderly and efficient post-disaster procedures. Most of the 31 students are working on their graduate degree in the Northeast University of Sendai. After arriving at Tokyo safely, some of them will directly go back to Taiwan while some decide to stay in Tokyo temporarily. Many of them say it is the most daunting earthquake experience they had after the 921 earthquake. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
