Cancer has been daunting the nation for the past 28 years for being the number one cause of death in Taiwan. Now on CTS, we are showing you a group of strong-minded individuals, who are determined in battling with the deadly disease by staying optimistic and active.

Follow us as we go into this basement. This person doesn't look like a cancer patient.

This girl with a young haircut, Lin Mei-li had depression before cancer, and had tried suicide a dozen times, as she felt life did not have any hope.

However, after joining this theater group of cancer patients, her life has finally come out of the shadows. Regaining confidence on stage, or growing vegetables gives these cancer survivors some hope and enjoyment. Who said that cancer patients should just lie in bed and do nothing? This aunty is a cancer survivor herself and is also a volunteer, who helps cancer patients renew their spirits.

She was only expected to live to 39 years old, and now she is 73! They are now optimistic every day as they ask people to open their hearts and come to peace with cancer, with no longer thinking of it as a terminal illness, as one's life can go on much longer than the doctor's predictions.
