The Chinese Taipei taekwondo team has attended a flag-raising ceremony, before heading off for the 2011 World Taekwondo Championships in Gyeongju, South Korea, that will run from May 1st to May 6th.

It will mark athlete Yang Shu-chun's first international competition since the controversy at the Guangzhou Asian Games, which sparked a public outcry at the time.

The most important World Taekwondo Competition will invite 150 countries to participate on May 1st in Gyeongju, South Korea.

The Chinese Taipei team of eight men and women players for a total of 16 departed for this tournament.

Yang Shu-chun who will be returning to international competition for the first time since the electronic sock controversy that eliminated her from the Guangzhou Asian Games.

This will be her first international tournament in many months.
