Despite the rain, several cities and counties may soon have to enter the second phase of water rationing.

Many industries are getting prepared for the major impact that the restriction may create for their businesses, with some residents coming up with their own methods in saving water.

All of the faucets in this house are specially outfitted with water saving valves.

They are easy to turn off, and this simple action actually saves a lot of water.

In addition, 2 bottles of mineral water have been put into the toilet tank, adjusting the water level and saving lots of water.

Mrs. Huang says that when doing housework one can reuse water which also means one is saving money.

There is a water shortage throughout Taiwan, and from the 23d of this month, southern parts of the island such as Kaohsiung City and Tainan City, will enter the second phase of water restrictions such as car washes, swimming pools, and sauna industry will see their water supply reduced by 20%.

Some of these heavy users of water actually say that they filter their water and recycle it.

However, some groundwater can't be used in swimming pools because of health concerns.

As for the car wash industry, since it regularly faces water shortage, many have invested in high-pressure spray equipment helping reduce water usage.

Despite this contingency measure, as a serious water shortage gets more serious, they may have no choice but to suspend their business.
