BIG WINNERS AT GOLDEN MELODY AWARDS

Taiwanese musician Jay Chou and Hong Kong's Karen Mok walked away with the top awards at the 22nd Golden Melody Awards in Taipei. The good news doesn't stop there as we take you to the most happening event of the night, and hear it from Mok, who made an announcement that had the audience going wild.

"The winner goes to, Jay Chou".

Chou snatched the Best Mandarin Male Singer, and the Best Mandarin Album trophies for his 10th studio album, "Cross-generation".

"I thought I wasn't going to get an award. I want to thank my mom for cooking boiled eggs for me in the morning. She said, you have to eat 2 eggs to get a score of 100".

And the superstar didn't forget to give thanks to those who made his day.

"The judges at the Golden Melody Awards are different every time, I like this year's judges. In the past years, I was absent when I won big awards. But the judges have changed my mind, I made the right choice to come this time."

As for the Best Mandarin Female Singer award,

"This is a women's war".

"Let us welcome this year's Best Mandarin Female Singer, Karen."

Karen Mok defeated the others with her "Precious" album, and topped it off with a surprise.

"I can't believe it I'm getting it for the second time. The more I get this award, the more I want it, and the higher I feel. I am addicted. I'm going to really celebrate this time, and I think the best way for me to celebrate is to get married this year".

Both Chou and Mok have grabbed the Best Singer awards twice. On the other hand, veteran producer Jonathan Lee, was also honored with two awards as the best composer, and the best lyricist for his single, "Jonathan's Song".
