The overall death toll has been cut down to 76 from the previously reported 93.

The 32 year-old suspect from Norway, Anders Behring Breivik is to remain in custody for at least 8 weeks, until his next court appearance.

Breivik, a suspected right wing Christian extremist, is allegedly responsible for two violent attacks, for shooting 68 young individuals at the political youth camp on the Utoya island, and for bombing the government buildings in downtown of Oslo, which left 8 people dead. It is said to be the worst attack in Norway since World War II. The police are investigating whether Breivik has any more accomplices following Breivik's confession that he has "two more cells" working with him. The authorities are also still trying to seek answers for his brutal acts, by looking into the 15-hundred page manifesto supposedly written by Breivik, which defended the attacks as necessary to fight "the colonization" of Muslims in Norway. Breivik has been charged for acts of terrorism.

The Norwegian government has called out for a moment of silence on Monday to remember those who lost their lives in the twin terror attacks last Friday.
