CAPTAIN AMERICA HITS THEATERS 7/28

The former No. 3 "Horrible Bosses" fell to the number 5 spot, taking in an additional $11.7 million U.S. dollars in the box office this past weekend. The action flick, "Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon" dropped to No.4, after grossing in $12 million U.S. dollars. The new romantic comedy "Friends with Benefits", starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, grabbed the No. 3 title on its opening week, bringing in $18.5 million U.S. dollars. The title of the movie defines the plot, with the duo trying to work out a friendship that's slightly more complicated now.

And here is the battle between the British sorcerers and the American superhero.

The seemly unstoppable "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" slid to No.2, raking in $48 million U.S. dollars since its release worldwide 11 days ago.

Despite being the last to hit theaters, "Captain America: The First Avenger" rocketed to No.1, earning $65.8 million U.S. dollars, beating its fellow Avenger Thor's record of $65.7 million on its opening weekend.

Based on the Marvel Comics of the same character, "Captain America: The First Avenger" stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers who volunteers for a top-secret project, turning him from a weak young man into superhero Captain America.

With a mission to defend the nation and the people, does Rogers have what it takes to defeat Red Skull played by Hugo Weaving, whose goal is to dominate the world?
