HOLLYWOOD'S HIGHEST-PAID ACTORS

The Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp is no longer the top dog. Jack Sparrow is no competition to Leonardo DiCaprio's role as dream invasion specialist Dom Cobb in the mind-blowing flick, "Inception", with DiCaprio now named as Hollywood's highest paid actor, according to Forbes magazine.

Actor Tom Cruise claimed the 10th spot on the list, with an immense paycheck of $22 million U.S dollars for his part in the latest action flick, "Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol" as IMF agent, Ethan Hunt.

Tim Allen, who is best known for the voice behind the popular character, Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story series, earned $22 million U.S. dollars at number 9. Toy Story 3 was considered to be the highest-grossing 2010 film worldwide, after taking in $1.06 billion U.S. dollars.

Mark Wahlberg fought his way into the eighth place of the list of top-earning actors with an annual income of $28 million U.S. dollars with his appearance as boxer Micky Ward in the Oscar-winning film, "The Fighter."

Robert Downey Jr. took in $31 million U.S. dollars for his performance as the action hero in "Iron Man 2" and as the detective who has the wit to solve mysteries in a heartbeat in "Sherlock Holmes."

Comedian Ben Stiller depended on the family-oriented character of Gaylord Focker to secure the sixth spot, which gave him an income of $34 million U.S. dollars.

Angels & Demons actor Tom Hanks, who experienced the biggest flop of his career by directing the romantic comedy, "Larry Crowne, came in at number 5, after making $35 million U.S. dollars this year from starring in "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" with actress Sandra Bullock.

Will Smith is said to have been paid $36 million U.S. dollars for his role as an alien hunting special agent in the upcoming flick, "Men in Black 3", which boosted his ranking to number 4.

Funnyman Adam Sandler was third on the list with an impressive income of $40 million U.S. dollars. His most recent 2010 comedy, "Grown Ups" achieved great success, after taking in $250 million U.S. dollars in box office.

Despite being the Mad Hatter in the second highest-grossing film of 2010 worldwide, which roped in $1.02, Johnny Depp lost his throne to Leornardo DiCaprio, with earnings of $50 million U.S. dollars. Depp was regarded as the highest-paid actor in Hollywood last year.

Leornardo DiCaprio has a reason to celebrate with his rumored girlfriend, Blake Lively, after Forbes magazine named the "Inception" star as the highest-paid actor for the first time with $77 million. DiCaprio was applauded for his exceptional performance in "Inception" and "Shutter Island", which together raked in more than $1.1 billion U.S. dollars in worldwide box office.
