WORLD MARKETS TUMBLED HARD

　　The world's financial markets took a beating on Thursday, following worries and warnings over prospects for the global economy. Britain's FTSE 100 ended in the red after dropping 4.7 percent.

　　France's CAC 40 fell 5.3 percent, while Germany's DAX finished 5 percent lower. In the US, Dow Jones, the S&P and Nasdaq were all down more than 3 percent. The Asian shares also closed in the negatives on Thursday.
