Nurses help Thai flood victims in a makeshift medical facility. As flooding continues to sweep through the capital, health officials are worried about the potential spread of bacterial infections and water-born diseases.

Kumnuan Ungchusak, Senior Expert in Department of Disease Control: "So far we have some sporadic cases of dengue in the flooded areas and also some sporadic cases of leptospirosis.

But, as I said, when the water starts to recede and people go back to their homes, now, we should be very careful on that." Doctors say most of the ailments they're treating are flood related.

Field Doctor Poj Aimpanoo: "Most of them are Athlete's foot and infections from injuries caused by sharp objects like broken glass and ceramics.

Sore eyes are also quite common, mostly due to the filthy water coming into contact with people's eyes." Stagnant water carrying garbage and debris is now common throughout Bangkok's flooded districts. Officials say bacteria from diarrhea has contaminated recent food samples.
