Valentine's Day director Garry Marshall is presenting his latest film, New Year's Eve, which tells the stories of several individuals and their New Year's resolutions. The film chronicles their romances and encounters before the New Year's Eve, as the iconic ball drop in Time Square of New York City.

Celebrities and cast members, including Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Hilary Swank, Josh Duhamel, and Lea Michele attended the premiere of the new romantic comedy in Los Angeles earlier this week.

The film starts with the preparation work of the 2012 New Year's Eve Countdown in Time Square, where the vice president of the Time Square Alliance, Claire, played by Hilary Swank, is doing whatever she can to make sure that the celebration will go as smoothly as expected.

The Oscar-winning actress says that she was drawn to the film because she feels that romantic comedies are the kind of movies people can relate to.

"Everyone knows what it feels like to have a resolution and to want to do better and love more and forgive - essentially be a better person."

Another co-star Katherine Heigl says the movie will make the audience wonder how everyone's stories connect.

"What I love about this formula - because this is the second time Garry (Marshall) has done this - is that it just it gives all an opportunity to be a part of a really fun movie and there is all these vignettes and all these different storylines and so it just keeps the audience engaged throughout the whole film because you are just waiting to see how it's all going to tie in together and cross over and what the results are going to be and it just feels really fun and big. It's an amazing cast."

For actress Lea Michele, who makes her big screen debut in the movie, she said that she's happy that she gets to work closely with Ashton.

"He is great," "He is a part of this family; this Garry Marshall family. He did 'Valentine's Day' and he knows Garry so well. I felt so lucky to get to work with someone who has done this before with Garry and is a part of the family. I felt like I was getting the best pick."

Hollywood heartthrob, Josh Duhamel, who remains quiet about his love interest in the film, brought three ladies along with him for the big night.

"She looks beautiful. She looks like Jessica Rabbit. (Reporter: Is this a date night, tell me what's going to go on in there with you?) Well its date night I guess. We got out moms with us. She is excited to see the movie. Mom, and mother in law are all excited about it. So I guess it's a date night with all of us."

"New Year's Eve" opens December 9 in U.S. and Taiwan cinemas.
