  Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda is the first regional leader to visit Beijing since the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il was announced on Monday. His death rattled the region, and Noda stressed the importance to both Japan and China of a stable Korean peninsula.

  Japanese Prime Minister, Yoshihiko Noda: "Peace and stability on the Korean peninsula is in the common interest for both Japan and China." Noda and Wen supervised the signing of agreements on education and clean energy cooperation. The Japanese premier's two-day visit will end on Monday, after he meets with President Hu Jintao.
