American designer Tommy Hilfiger showcased a military prep look for his menswear collection for Fall 2012 earlier last week. Male models strutted down a faux red-brick runway with a park-like backdrop behind them, as if they were cadets on their way to class at a military academy. Dark brown, gray, black and blue dominated the show, staying in tune with the trend forecast. Hilfiger said that the collection, which was inspired by the lifestyle of a young cadet, is full of military jackets, with a sleek rocker twist. "It's really a number of things. It's military prep, or cadet prep, it is rock and roll, it is the sporting life, country tweeds. And it's about maybe reaching into your dad's closet and bringing out some of the classics, but redoing them." The menswear show was the first of two collections that Tommy Hilfiger will present during New York Fashion Week. Pops of plum and burgundy gave suede motorcycle pants and striped shirts a lush look. Those fun colors also showed up on the detailing on winter coats. Colors such as plum, mustard, olive green and midnight navy were used to replace dark hues for men collection. In addition to clothes, Hilfiger showed a wide selection of accessories for men. Quilted leather gloves, messenger bags and cadet-like boots helped finish the military look.Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York will continue at Lincoln Center and other venues in the city through Thursday (February 16). ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
