Adapted by the novel of the same name, and directed by Stephen Daldry, the film "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" is hitting Taiwan theaters this Friday. The film tells the story of an uncommonly bright 11-year-old boy, Oscar Shell, who tries to keep alive his memory of his father, who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Oscar found a mysterious key in his father's closet, and decided to search for the lock that fits it. This journey not only heals Oscar's heart, but also changes the lives of many, whom Oscar met during his search. The film stars Tom Hanks as a father killed in World Trade Center, Sandra Bullock as his widow, newcomer Thomas Horn as his son, Oscar and Max von Sydow as a mysterious old man who becomes close to the traumatized boy. The movie has also been nominated for two Academy Awards, Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Max von Sydow.(Courtesy: Warner Bros.
