After her two concerts in Taipei, U.S. pop singer Lady Gaga arrived in Manila amid protests against her two-day concert tour in the city.

Lady Gaga, sporting a black leather jacket and a unique hairstyle, blew kisses at her fans and signed a few autographs before entering her hotel.

Selene Liwanag, a long time Gaga fan, could not wait to watch her idol's concert.

"Lady Gaga makes me feel free and she inspires me a lot to be a better person, and she, I can relate to her insecurities," she said.

The U.S. singer, who performed in Manila in 2009, is expected to hold her two day concert starting today at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the newly established venue with a seat capacity of 20,000 people. However, about a thousand Filipino activists staged a prayer rally a few hundred metres in front of the concert hall.

Protesters held hands and prayed in front of the security guards blocking their path to the concert hall as they urged the singer to respect Christian values.

They claimed that Lady Gaga's music and videos were anti-Christian.

"Her shows, her costumes, her lyrics and music are demon inspired. It is not wholesome for the youth," said Widen King, a Christian believer.

Lady Gaga, who is on her "Born This Way" world tour, has seen a series of protests by conservative Christian and Muslim groups in Asia, criticizing her music and videos for its sexual content, as well as the "twisting" of religious iconography in the show.
