Hollywood makeup artist R.J. McCasland is in Taiwan this week to host a five-day workshop on special effect makeup. The veteran's works can be seen in films like The Devil's Advocate, Terminator 3, and hit TV series Heroes. And this time he shows our reporter how some of the scary transformations in movies are done.
Dressed in black and white stripes and with a face covered in white make-up is Michael Keaton playing the role of Beetlejuice.
This image has scared many people and prevented them from sleeping.
The person who designed this makeup and terror is right in front of us.
He is a Hollywood makeup artist named R.J. McCasland who has 15 years of experience doing this work.
His special visit to Taiwan includes a special head piece, and foundation with layers of pigment allowing this young man to instantly transform into this scary Beetlejuice character.
R.J is most proud of the work involving a large octopus that included many layers.
He has even worked with mushrooms as RJ says that it took 2 and a half hours of make-up work to produce characters in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. Finally it is done.
As for Beetlejuice, this classic role and its make-up was explained during RJ's trip to Taiwan where he brought Hollywood's special make-up techniques to show everyone.
