This is Yayok Kusama's first public art piece in Taiwan.
The yellow pumpkin with black dots is a classic Kusama work.
She even incorporates herself into this creation.
Her fascination with dots came from her childhood mental illness.
She uses bright colors and dots in her works, as this is how she sees the world.
Now, Kusama is one of the world's top 100 artists.
The 82 year old Kusama stays within Japan and do not travel abroad often due to her health.
But her works are all over the world.
This piece created by Kusama when she was 23 years old displays the spots on her mother's face and in her imagination.
It's rare to see all of her works from when she's young to old all in one place.
She is currently exhibiting in Taiwan right now.
Taiwanese art lovers will be able to see the artist's creativity on display.
