Multiple non-governmental organizations in Taitung have launched a summer reading program for children that live in remote tribal villages. Teachers are provided for these kids who have limited access to books and libraries during the summer. The specially designed courses will grant them great companionship while assist in establishing their reading habits. Students are creating their own storybooks to share with others in this hands-on project. These activities, supported by the NGOs, are targeted to strengthen and encourage these children's reading and comprehension skills. Teachers are assigned to instruct the children for free to help them develop a normal study habit, as well as to provide them with the attention they need during the summer vacation. With their parents working out in the farms, children living in the countryside often face a lack of parental companionship during the summer, and encounter limited educational resources. With the participants still relatively low, the organizations are calling out for more children to take advantage of this essential and beneficial program. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
