According to a recent survey, National Taiwan, Tsing-Hua and Cheng-Chi universities receive top rankings among public schools, while Fu-Jen, Tamkang and Soochow universities are rated as leaders among private schools. Mr. Sheng is quite slender but he is a skillful Kong-fu master. With five years of teaching experience under his belt, the fresh graduate of the Chinese Martial Art department of Chinese Univeristy owns a martial art club. He is one of the few lucky persons who get to apply what he learns at school. But this gentleman, who graduated with a foreign literature degree from National Taiwan University, has been a mortician for four years, making about NT$70,000 per month. According to a research by a local job bank, employers are still quite particular about the school's quality and reputation of potential employees. The research shows that among national universities, National Taiwan University ranks top on the most favored college graduate list, following by Ching-hua and Cheng-chi University. Cheng-gong university, which was ranked No.1 is falling to the fourth place. Among private colleges, Fu-Jen Catholic University is the most popular college, following by Tamkang, Soochow, Chungyuan Christian and Yuan-chi University. Although the school reputation may give you extra edge in the job market, what it really takes to excell is one's professional abilities and work ethics.
