Yanping Township in Taitung County mountains, is where Ji Ya Nu uses a knife and a pack of dogs to hunt wild boar.
The two sides immediately start fighting at close range, as he works quickly to cut the heart as it immediately falls to the ground and becomes his prey.
56-years-old today Ji Ya Nu, was 16 when he went with his father hunting for wild boar.
The tribe's members agricultural land is often destroyed by these boars.
They have retaliated and five years ago, he built a boar museum to specialize in collecting wild boar skulls.
This is 1000th boar he has killed which is more than the 700 killed by his father, as he is setting a new record.
However Ji Ya Nu's hunting of wild boar is also based on principles as he does not kill mothers with piglets only killing males and,
also, he does not go into virgin forest to chase these boars so they can continue to multiply.
He hopes that people in tribal communities can have sustainable use of such resources and co-exist peacefully.
