The Taiwan Fund for Children and Families is celebrating its 60th year of establishment and service. Many of the sponsored individuals who have received help from the past are also joining the anniversary to express their gratitude toward the non-profit organization. Taiwan Fund for Children and Families is celebrating its 60th anniversary in Taiwan. Mr. Lee made the three-story cake and he was once sponsored by the non-profit organization for seven years when he was young. When he grew up, he became a baking apprentice and later opened up his own bakery. According to Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, it has sponsored over 210,000 children from poor families over the span of 60 years. These individuals have grown up and achieved success in their respective fields. For example, Mr. Kao Meng Shi, who was also raised in a poor family, is now the general manager of the Taiwan branch of an international pharmaceutical company. The formerly sponsored youth become long-term donors of the Fund, just like how the Fund received the help from the US and now stands on its own. Former chairperson of Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, 93-year-old Peng Ming-tsung, is a committed volunteer for life. Having witnessed the Fund's 60 years of history, he hopes the public can join its effort in lifting many poor families out of poverty. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
