Not only does Chunghwa Post offer mail services, it now also provides a variety of merchandise, including daily necessities. Chunghwa Post, the official mail service provider in Taiwan, is exploring changes in its business model as it aims to implement corporate diversification in order to thrive in the digital age. Young ladies can't resist browsing through the new items for sale at Chunghwa Post. The postal store, which just opened recently, now provides a selection of over 100 different convenient items inside the Hsindien Post Office. The idea to expand Chunghwa Post's services stemmed from the success of facial mask sales starting in 2003. In the first year alone, 50,000 masks were sold. The company is confident in the business opportunity of selling commercial items in addition to its postal service. The sale of such items reached NT$300 million last year. Now, with a designated shopping area, the company hopes to gain a net profit of at least NT$80,000 per year. Based on the success of this store, other branches might also have postal stores in the future as well. Along with these changes, Chunghwa Post is also expanding in other fields, such as online shopping, with the creation of PostMall. Despite declining mail services and low interest rates, the company is continuing to seek creative ways in which it can increase its revenue. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
