It was payday yesterday for civil servants of Yunlin County, but none of them received their salary for this month because of the county government's financial difficulties. Yunlin magistrate Su Chih-fen promised that she will try her best to get the staff paid within a week, while placing the blame on the Executive Yuan's unfair allocation of government revenues. Civil servants working for the Yunlin County were supposed to get their September salary payment on September first. But since the county government is facing financial difficulties and the central government's distribution for centrally-allotted tax revenue given to the government is reduced by NT$1 billion, the county government is experiencing a serious financial hardship, and confirms it will have to delay the salary payment. According to County Commissioner Su Ji-feng, the monthly salary payment for civil servants in the government is about NT$700 million and she is doing her best to raise enough fund, in the hope to make the payment in a week, adding that the central government should quickly pass the new version of the Law of Subdivision of Financial Income and Expenditure as the current law is unfair the country's agricultural counties and cities. Take the Formosa Sixth Naphtha for an example, the plant was built in Yunlin but the headquarters is in Taipei City. Therefore, Taipei City Government takes all the tax revenue but Yunlin County is unable to get any of that. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
