In order to make Taipei residents' lives easier, the National Property Administration is planning to sell the property rights of the lands in the Neihu and Daan Districts, but bidders can only utilize the estate to provide public housing.

Its goal is to build affordable apartments for elders, students and the general public. The units are not for sale, and people are looking to pay far less than the average rent in the nearby areas.

This is the intersection of Renai Road and an alley off Daan Road with a total area of 538 square meters.

It is near the Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT Station and SOGO as this parcel will be designated as public housing,

the first time the government has specially made this "designation" for 3 different parcels of prime real estate. In October, public bidding will begin and construction is expected to be completed within 2 years.

The plan is to offer low rent for senior citizens, students, and the general public.

Regarding student housing, the rent for an approximately 5 to 8 ping room will be between 3,500 to 9,600 NT$. And near Kangning Road section 3, a seniors housing facility will offer 8 to 12 ping for single and double rooms with rent between 16,000 to 30,000 NT$.Building public housing is certainly the good intention of the government say scholars, but given the high cost of land in Taipei,

few people may be able to benefit from public housing. Scholars recommend selling the land for the highest price and then purchase larger lots of land in Taipei County to build more residences.

They believe that this action would benefit even more people.
