When holidays come around, workers from Taiwan Railways Administration sacrifice their family reunions to make sure the passengers get home without delays. This year, two railway employees have been recognized with the Golden Railway Award for their enthusiasm and devotion over the past three decades. Working tirelessly to affix a stamp on these tickets is Kaohsiung Nanzih Station officer Liu Ching-Yao who entered the Taiwan Railway service in 1970 and began from the entry level position of attendant and rose all the way to the present duty as station officer. He has been working for TRA for 40 years and has remained at his post every New Year's Eve, not returning home to celebrate with his family, but helping others make a smooth return home. Another individual with many years of service is Pingtung Linbian Station Deputy Station Master, Chen Shih-Hsian who as an 18-year-old entered the TRA and for nearly 30 years did not go home to eat New Year's Eve dinner. Chen said he was grateful to his family who typically celebrate it a little earlier for him. While many are happy going home for this holiday, these two heroes have sacrificed so that everyone can go home in peace to be with their families. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
