China's online auction giant, TaoBao.com, has started a new service for Taiwanese users through cooperation with a local auction site, offering buyers around the island an easier access to hundreds of thousands of mainland products each month. But an extra fee of 50 NT dollars will be charged with each transaction. One of the most popular auction sites is TaoBao in China. There are more than 7 million types of T-shirts to choose from. And the prices are way cheaper than what you can find in Taiwan. However, the transaction platform for internet shopping across the Straits is quite differnent. So is the transaction method. It's not uncommon to see people complain about bad shopping experiences. Inspired by the phenomenon, some Taiwanese Internet company decided to form a special area to display certain products on the site and translate them into traditional Chinese so Taiwanese internet uers can share the same platform with Chinese sellers on the website. But consumers will be charged an additional NT$50 for each transaction. If you still want to deal with the Chinese seller yourself, the Taobao site also has a third-party payment platform, which ensures consumer's money is paid to the seller after the seller ships the goods. But since the new platform is under Chinese's jurisdiction, any complaints would have to be made to the company's Chinese officials. Therefore, if you want to avoid getting yourself into troubles from shopping for cheap, Chinese goods, you should carefully choose a trustworthy seller. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
