Labor organizations are not sitting well with the recent increase of the minimum wage by 600 NT dollars per month, meaning that workers will only be given a raise of 3 NT dollars an hour. While holding a demonstration outside the Executive Yuan, the labor groups have also taken the issue to the Control Yuan. The Executive Yuan has passed a proposal to raise the minimum monthly wage by 600 NT; an minimum hourly wage by 3 NT, and the measure is expected to go into effect on January 1st. However, labor groups are unhappy with the amount of increase, and the Minimum Wage Review Commission says that the 3.47% hike was a unilateral decision and that the government was putting on a show. Labor groups held a demonstration outside the Executive Yuan on Friday, and later accused the government of negligence at the Control Yuan. According to labor groups, the Executive Yuan and Council of Labor Affairs have violated the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights by disregarding the needs of disadvantaged workers. The groups are also demanding Premier Wu Den-yih's resignation. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
