The 10th National Prayer Breakfast Meeting of Taiwan was held on Saturday, during which President Ma Ying-jeou apologized for the government's inadequacy in flood prevention, and expressed his wish for national harmony and cross-strait peace. Nearly 100 representatives from churches around the island held an early centennial celebration on Saturday and prayed for a just, peaceful, and loving Taiwan. A number of the participants called for an end to political tension between the ruling and opposition parties in 2011 and the creation of a peaceful, happy Taiwan. During the breakfast, Ma discussed the "White Terror" era and expressed his desire for ethnic harmony. The president also talked about the government and military's efforts in aiding flood victims over the past two summers, and apologized for mistakes that occurred along the way.
