A love for music may hold the key to living a long life. Three centenarians in Taoyuan County recently celebrated the upcoming Senior Citizen's Day with their families, and showed the younger generations how they have sung their way to longevity.

Due to the Double Nine Festival, many elders have been visited by government workers in each city. Since methods of long life have been underlined in many Chinese myths, long-living people have been bothered with one question: How to keep fit and live long?

Mr. Liu owns good health and an optimistic way of thinking. His beard, glasses and praying beads together make his charismatic appearance. He, is 101 years old. His whole family presents themselves in four generations. Holding his great-grand son on his lap, Grandpa Liu confessed, that his hobby is singing Japanese songs, which he had learned from the Japanese colonial period.

Grandmother Huang in the wheel chair is now 103 years old and she also loves singing. Five generations of her family make together more than 130 members. When all her grand children asked her to sing, she even felt shy and rejected with a smile.

Last, but not least, the eldest between them, Grandfather Li is 108 years old and also loves to sing. He is quite fit in his age, although he uses a walking stick. If you ask him about his secret to a long and healthy life, he will start singing a song for you as a reply. To answer the previous question, all three of them have the same answer: Doing sports, keep being optimistic and of course, sing to feel happy!
