As we have reported earlier, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has announced that the speed limit of the Hsueshan Tunnel will be raised from 80 kilometers per hour to 90, starting November 1st. Commuters often experience traffic congestion in and around the Hsuehshan Tunnel on weekends and holidays. In order to alleviate the situation, the Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau has decided to raise the tunnel's maximum speed limit from 80 kilometers per hour to 90 kilometers per hour. The measure will go into effect on November 1st, and speeding tickets will only be issued for motorists traveling at more than 100 kilometers per hour. According to the bureau, the change will raise the tunnel's capacity from 2,400 vehicles per hour to 2,800 vehicles per hour. Transportation officials will also be using ramp controls and other measures to facilitate traffic flow. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
