Many people have the tendency to put their laptops on their thighs for an extended period of time. But now, you may want to get rid of that habit, as recent research shows that the heat generated from laptops can lead to burns on the skin and may even contribute to reproductive problems for men.

There have been several cases of laptop users develop sponge-patterned skin discoloration and even burns on the thighs after using laptop computers for a long period of time.

It may sound ridiculous, but these cases have shown the potential risks of using laptops.

Furthermore, a recent survey has indicated that resting laptops on the thighs for 10 to 15 minutes may increase the temperature of the scrotum, which is normally one degree Celsius lower than the rest of the body.

Once the temperature of the scrotum rises, the sperm counts will be affected, which may lead to male infertility.

Doctors said that there are many reasons for male infertility, including staying up late, smoking, and frequent exposure to heat such as hot spring or to dangerous ambient such as X-rays, which both damage the sperm counts.

Men who want babies should maintain a healthy lifestyle and stop placing hot laptops on the thighs.
