Su Jia-chyuan agreed to serve again as DPP's secretary-general after he was narrowly defeated in the Taichung mayoral race last month. The first task he faces is to arrange the nomination process for the legislative and presidential elections within the party. In the Taichung mayoral election, Su Jia-chuan only lost to his opponent to a narrow margin and it was considered a glorious defeat. Today he returns to his old job as DPP's secretary-general and is welcomed by the party's chairperson Tsai Ing-wen. The top priority after he returns to the office is to complete the party nomination work for the upcoming presidential and legislator election. Many party members have shown intention to get onto the list of the DPP's candidates for at-large seats. Some assert that the party should base on public poll to make the decisions while others believe that the party should reinstate the system where party members vote on the issue. The DPP plans to propose an amendment to the party's nomination articles in the end of December at the soonest, which will be put to a vote in the provisional national congress in next January. But before that, the most challenging task for the secretary-general is how to form a consensus within the party. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
