The Taiwan Stock Exchange has recently announced a list of 99 publicly traded companies on the island that have created the most job opportunities for the local work force, hoping to encourage more enterprises to follow their example and better fulfill corporate social responsibility. The Taiwan Stock Exchange has pushed forth a 99 corporation index, which is a selection among thousands of listed corporations of 99 corporations that employ the most workers. This index was created as a reference for investors and to encourage corporations to operate more responsibly. The 99 corporate index includes 18 insurance companies, 48 electronic manufacturers, and 33 companies of well-known brands. Ranking first on the index is Cathay Holdings with a weight of 8.31%. Third in place is ChungHwa Telecom with a weight of 4.73%. Nanya Plastics Corporation comes in tenth and holds a weight of 2.35%. The higher number of employed workers means more weight on the index. According to the Taiwan Stock Exchange, the 99 Taiwan corporation index authorization stems from broker issued ETF or commodity index funds acting as an investment marker. Previously, the Social responsibility index placed more emphasis on a corporation's market value, inevitably resulting in omissions. The 99 Taiwan corporate index will encourage corporations to employ more workers in pursuing more weight on the stock index. Simultaneously, the index will serve as another source of reference for stock investors. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
