An initial inspection on the eastward extension of the MRT Bannan lines has just been completed in Taipei. In the future, passengers of the Bannan and Wenhu lines can change trains inside the Nangang Exhibition Hall Station, which will save them around 10 minutes of transfer time. And if everything goes well, the new added line will be in full operation by Chinese New Year at the earliest. The motorcycle parking lot built in the same structure of the MRT station was set on fire by an unknown suspect. The staff quickly activated the sprinkler system and evacuates passengers. At the same time, there was a train coming in. Although the fire didn't come close to the platform, the staff requested passengers to leave the MRT station. This is the final stop of the Bannan line, Nankang Exhibition Hall station. The MRT bureau had a preliminary inspection and drill on Sunday. Another scenario is that the cars didn't arrive in the designated section. The station staff has to manually open the emergency door to let out the passengers. But inspection commissioners believe the emergency response is not quick enough. The eastward extension of the Bannan line will link the Nankang Station to the Nankang Exhibition Hall Station, thus connecting with the Wenhu Line there. After the review procedure is complete, the traffic of the extension service will begin before the upcoming Lunar New Year holidays. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
