The environment assessment review of the Kuokuang Petrochemical plant project is scheduled for this Thursday. Worrying that it might be passed, environmental groups recently went to the Presidential Office to express their wishes to preserve white dolphins, hoping that the president will listen to the children's voice and preserve these valuable natural resources for future generations.

Although these children don't have the voting rights, they still want to tell President Ma that they don't want the Kuokuang Petrochemical Plant, which may kill white dolphins.

Children wrote that they need clean air and water in alphabets, hoping adults can listen to their voices and preserve the environment.

Children are not the only ones who oppose the construction project of Kuokuang Petrochemical Plant, environmental groups also launch a campaign of writing letters to President Ma. On the average, 20 postcards are sent to President Office each day. But the environmental groups said that they were told by the public affairs office of the Presidential Office that President Ma won't even read them.

Environmental advocates say they will continue to mail the letters until President Ma responds to them.

Kuokuang Petrochemical Plant is to conduct an environmental assessment review this Thursday.

Worried over the possible approval, environmental groups will hold a giant rally in Changhua Tuesday.

On Wednesday, young students will stage a protest by sleeping in front of the Environmental Protection Administration.

Local groups are coming together to stop the construction project until the authority announces to give up the plan.
