To honor Li Kwoh-ting, known as Taiwan's "Father of Taiwan's Economic Miracle", the National Central University has named a newly discovered asteroid after him, which has been recently approved by the International Astronomical Union.

The planet Li Kwoh-ting circled around the sun in 3.48 years with the closest distance to the sun at 340 million kilometers and 350 million kilometers from the Sun as the furthest distance.

The star was discovered while it was in constellation of Taurus and now it is in the Sagittarius constellation.

The Lu Lin astrological observation tower is on Jade Mountain, where its secluded location makes it perfect to observe stars.

It has discovered 800 small planets and others, with 20 of them officially named with famous peoples names of Cheng Tsong-hua, Wen Shih-ren and more.

Other names include Chiayi, Nantou, Chungli, among others.

National Central University's Lulin astrological observation station discovered the number 239611 star on October 23rd of 2008, and it was officially named Li Kwoh-ting in December of last year.

After the naming was certified by the international astrological society, it would receive an internationally unified number.
