Even though there are still several months before the year-end legislative election, both KMT and DPP have started their preparation in the race. As for the DPP, with politicians announcing their bids in the candidacy one after another, a fierce competition among DPP contenders have already started even before the primaries. Former DPP legislator, Lin Cho-shui, who resigned from his post in 2006, in protest against former President Chen Shui-bien's state affairs fund case. However, as DPP gains victory in the five municipality election and the by-elections in Tainan and Kaohsiung, which leads to an increase in the number of DPP's legislative seats and the total vote-count, Lin has decided to run for candidacy for the legislative seat in Xinzhuang District of the New Taipei City. Lin says that he hopes to represent the party to win a seat in the New Taipei City, since DPP normally gets fewer votes in northern Taiwan. He says that once he was nominated, he will propose an improvement project for the Legislative Yuan. Yet another former legislator, Wu Bin-rei, has not announced his intention in joining the race. And Lin is not the only one who wants to join the year-end Legislative election. Former Government Information Office minister Yao Wen-chih, former legislator Kuo Cheng-liang, Tuan Yi-kang, and former Hakka Affairs Council chairman Luo Wen- jia have all announced their bids in the candidacy in Datung and Shilin-Beitou electoral district of Taipei City. Luo Wen-jia says that he believes that even with so many contenders, it will still be a peaceful competition during the primary. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
