Donations of goods and funds have been pouring in to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the past few days as people around Taiwan are eager to do their part in helping Japan's quake victims. And on Tuesday, the ministry announced that the demands for relief goods have already been met, but monetary donations are still welcomed and encouraged. Boxes full of sleeping bags, dried provisions and blankets are relief goods to be sent to Japan. Most of them are donated by local religious groups and companies. At least 30 tons of relief goods have been prepared. One person even personally went to the storage to donate 100 generators. According to Ministry of Foreign Affair's instruction, all the relief goods are placed in the storage before being sent to Japan. The ministry says there are enough relief goods for the time being, given the traffic and the control measures. So the public is encouraged to donate money through the ministry's special account for overseas disaster relief funds to help disaster victims in Japan to rebuild their lives. ◆ 追蹤更多華視影音及圖文新聞: 1.用Plurk追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤 2.用Twitter追蹤華視影音及圖文新聞:追蹤
