Among hundreds of celebrities participating in last Friday's fundraiser, First Lady Christine Chou attracted special attention, as she worked non-stop all night, taking phone calls from viewers until the end of the telethon.
Sitting among a number of volunteers, Christine Chou took calls from generous, compassionate donors who wanted to contribute to the Japan earthquake disaster donation drive.
Before the fundraiser even commenced, Christine was already at the scene and familiarizing herself with her duties and mission.
Taiwanese celebrities performed songs as a way to cheer on the Japanese people while Christine Chou diligently picked up calls from donors.
Because the singing was too loud at certain times, Christine was forced to cup one of her palms over her ear so that she could hear donors' contact information.
She barely drank any water during the 5-hour telethon.
A total of 120 phone lines were set up in the hopes that no call would be missed.
Although the only way she could help was to take calls from donors, Christine Chou contributed her best effort to the Japan earthquake disaster donation.
