In Taipei, a defense exercise was held on Monday simulating a Chinese invasion of the capital through the Tamsui river. According to the original plan, the army was supposed to deploy Cobra attack helicopters near the Guandu bridge as the last line of defense, but that part was later cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

Sirens indicate the 27th Hankuang military exercise with officers and men in action, taking defensive positions as the military sent an imaginary enemy force in boats off the coast of Bali.

The military uses CM11 tanks to repel these forces.

The enemy makes a breakthrough with a beach landing though the military launches a defense.

Commanders immediately order an all out attack on the enemy with 40 grenade launchers.

At this point, flags announced the end of the exercise, as the army commander expressed satisfaction with the exercise.

The military had also arranged AH-1W Cobra attack helicopters to provide support in this anti-assault exercise, defending the bridge against the enemy, but poor weather in the afternoon in northern Taiwan canceled this part of the exercise as strong winds kept helicopters away today.
