They roll up their sleeves and don't fear the needle as they wish to help others. Aside from these spur of the moment blood donations, many people make a regular habit of donating blood.
This woman, surnamed Wang, has been doing it for 26 years.
It has become a regular habit of hers and has now accumulated 1,200 donations.
The Taipei Blood Donation Center, said it encourages people, such as Ms. Wang to make regular donations. It says this makes storing and managing the blood more convenient.
Also, because most donors are older, it encourages younger people to donate blood.
The center says that men can donate less than 1,500 cc a year and 1,000 cc for women.
It encourages people to donate blood regularly and can set appointments for times that are the most appropriate.
