Resignation of the Taiwan Broadcasting System (TBS) Chairperson, Chen Sheng-fu, was approved at a board meeting earlier this week, with Chen set to hand over the reins on May first to his successor, Tamkang professor Chao Yaly.

And in the final press conference he held before stepping down, Chen listed seven potential legal violations by the previous management team of TBS.

Tamkang University Professor Yaly Chao has been appointed new Taiwan Broadcasting System chairman as of May 1st.

Outgoing TBS Chairman Chen Sheng-fu, who was in office for just seven months, says that he achieved his personal goals and that he is accepting the role of villain to ensure a smooth transition.

Chen also mentioned seven major corruption cases uncovered by TBS' Board of Directors, and spoke in detail about PTS' Kaohsiung World Games contract.

According to Chen, PTS won the Kaohsiung City Government's contract bid and its final expense report was suspiciously 99.99% of the budget.

In response to Chen's calls for an investigation, former PTS Executive Vice President Chung Yu-yuan, who also headed the World Games' planning committee, said that he welcomed an investigation and had nothing to hide.

Chung further said that while World Games coverage was a profitable venture for PTS, revenues and expenses eventually balanced out because there were innumerable indirect costs that had to be taken into account.

Chung also vouched for the credibility of the management team.
