To increase their chances of getting a decent job in the future, a Kaohsiung vocational high school has been demanding students to obtain professional licenses before graduation.

On average, each student has 15 certifications, with one individual acquiring as many as 28 in total. Students say that these exams have helped them find their own strength and they believe that it will be a plus in their career path.

With their teacher overseeing their studies, these information technology students have become experts at taking professional licensing exams.

During his three-year high school career, Shen Tzu-cheng has acquired 28 computer-related licenses.

He says that he once lacked self-confidence and scored just 120 points on the Basic Competence Test for Junior High School Students, but that passing so many certification exams has helped to make his future clearer.

Shen will be attending National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in the fall. His classmate, Hsu Kai-chun, says that he had no idea what his future held in junior high school, but that passing 16 certification exams has helped him become more confident about his future and himself.

Their teacher says that encouraging students to study for professional exams not only raises their chances of getting into university, but also makes them more competitive in the job market.
