As for the legislative elections, both major parties have launched searches for well-known faces to enter the race, and sometimes even outside of political circles. The DPP has nominated TV commentator He Po-wen earlier this week to run for the parliament seat of New Taipei City's Tamsui district. And a couple of other famous political novices may also be announced as DPP candidates in the weeks to come.

Several DPP-nominated candidates in the legislative election show up in the campaign event to create momentum.

One of the most eye-catching individuals must be pundit He Po-wen, who recently has been approved by the DPP's central execution committe to run in the first constituency in New Taipei City.

In its attempt to grab more seats, the ruling KMT is also arranging its lineup.

It's said that former minister without portfolio Gao Shi-bo would join the election in the fourth constituency in Tainan city.

Former director of labor affairs bureau in Taipei City Su Ying-kui may run in the election in the 9th constituency in Kaohsiung City.

But recently, the KMT's primary result of the third constituency of Taoyuan showed that former legislator Chen Xue-sheng beat incumbent lawmaker Cheng Jing-ling, who says she would join the election despite the primary result.

When asked whether she would run the election on behalf of the PFP, of which she was a former party member, Cheng says she is not thinking about it because she is a KMT member now and she refused to comment on whether or not she would become an independent candidate.
